New job sources and specialization
The expression new job sources (NJS), also known as employment quarries, is used in the Delors White Paper (Growth, Competitiveness and Employment. The Challenges and Ways forward into the 21st Century), to describe those job activities that satisfy the new social needs.
Regarding the tourism sector, we are talking about the specialization of existing jobs and occupations that take a new dimension, more than about the idea of new professions.
Leisure services; rural and cultural tourism, or specialized by topics or sectors; 2.0 workers specialized in information management through the Internet; organization of events and activities related to sports and adventure tourism, green and environmental tourism, as well as tourism for the elderly and the handicapped; these are other fields whose situation has to be considered, in order to meet the different needs that the tourist market might face in these areas.
