ACTIONS / Training / Certificates of professionalism

According to the ROYAL DECREE 34/2008 of January 18, regulating certificates of professionalism.

The purpose of the certificates of professionalism is:

  1. To certify the professional qualifications or the different competence modules included in them, regardless of the way they were acquired, be it through training or through job experience or other non conventional ways of training, as determined by the rules developing section 8 of Organic Law 5/2002, of June 19, on Qualifications and Vocational Training.
  2. To provide permanent education for everyone through open, flexible and accessible training, structured in units, by means of the training offer linked to the certificate.
  3. To increase labour market transparency, both at the national and European level, for employers and employees.
  4. To regulate the training offer of the system of vocational training for employment associated to the National Classification of Professional Qualifications.
  5. To help improve the quality of vocational training for employment.
  6. To contribute to the integration, transfer and validation of the different vocational training offers associated to the National Classification of Professional Qualifications.

The ORSTA is in charge of coordinating, creating and developing the Certificates of Professionalism of the Catering and Tourism Category, and so its representative character and actions will be highly effective in the assessment of all the training options in the sector.

The following table shows the certificates corresponding to the Catering and Tourism category, depending on the different levels of professional qualification:
